Maitre De/Host  Responsibilities

  • Opens the front door for all guests entering and exiting the building
  • Greets every guest with a smile and welcome when entering the restaurant, thanks every guest for coming and invites them to return when exiting the restaurant
  • Receive and make phone calls in a friendly, helpful, professional manner while extending hospitality through the phone lines.
  • Maintains and keeps all work areas of the hospitality team (host work stations, entry ways, doors, etc.) presentable, clean and organized.
  • Comprehend, plan and strategize reservations using the Open Table system
  • Make confirmation calls for all scheduled reservations
  • Comprehend, plan and manage the wait list and quote accurate wait times for walk in guests
  • Oversee dining rooms, communicate scenarios and plan seating strategies with all departments
  • Keep dining rooms and it’s components presentable and ready for capacity seating
  • Stocking, maintenance and cleanliness of restroom
  • Perform all systems of professional pre bussing and final busing systems
  • Understand and able to perform and communicate Tin Roof Bistro’s service & hospitality vocabulary and communication systems
  • Communicate with Management and kitchen team about the flow their seating techniques are creating.
  • Communicate with special event supervisors, be aware of events that are taking place and know where to direct guests who are attending them
  • Responsible for taking TO GO orders, packaging them properly, processing payment and presenting to guest
  • Understand and able to perform and communicate Tin Roof Bistro’s hospitality vocabulary and communication systems
  • Assist with overall set up and maintenance of restaurant
  • Perform daily sidework that maintains the cleanliness and appearance of our environment
  • Be compliant with all safety and sanitation working procedures and guidelines

  • Possess a minimum of 1year Maitre De/Host experience in a Chef driven, high volume restaurant
  • Available to work all weekends and holidays
  • Able to commit to a 4 day work week availability – minimum
  • Able to remain standing and on your feet for a 5 to 8 hour period
  • Able to lift and or move between 10 – 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in all environments from casual to upscale
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to manage a wait list and quote accurate wait times
  • Able to screen, schedule and manage appointments for Management
  • Able to establish and build relationships with guests and teammates
  • Literate with basic computer skills
  • Familiar and literate with Open Table reservation systems
  • Familiar and literate with Aloha POS systems
  • Able to learn, comprehend and describe extensive Chef driven food, wine, beer and cocktail menus
  • Familiar and literate with order taking, preparing, packaging and processing To Go orders
